Cardinals and Saxons move up in national polls
The St. John Fisher College and Alfred University football teams have moved up in the most recent D3football.com poll and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III poll.
The new D3football.com Top 25 poll has the Cardinals ranked 13th and the Saxons ranked 23rd. Fisher (6-0, 4-0) advanced one spot after defeating Morrisville State, while Alfred (5-0, 3-0 Empire 8) advanced two spots in the rankings despite not playing last week.
Fisher also moved up one spot in the AFCA poll, but Alfred moved from 30th to 25th.

Fisher, who is off to a 6-0 start for the fourth time since 2004, returns to action at 1 p.m. next Saturday at Utica College.
The Saxons return to action Saturday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. against visiting Empire 8 opponent Cortland.
