Szucs Leads Stevens At Manhattanville Invitational

MAMARONECK, N.Y. (October 7, 2016) – Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf senior Frank Szucs shot four-over 75 Friday at round one of the Manhattanville Invitational. 

The two-round tournament is taking place at Hampshire Country Club in Westchester. Szucs' round placed the veteran in a tie for second place on the leaderboard, while as a team Stevens is in a tie for fourth with a 328.

Szucs carded a pair of birdies on the front, before shooting even par-36 on the back in a two birdie, six par round. Szucs played near-flawless golf on the back, giving strokes back to the course on just the par-four 17th. 

Sophomores Jack Doherty and Ezekiel Zhao each shot 84, while sophomore Tyler Balkema's 85 rounded out the Stevens scoring. Zhao carded two birdies in his round, while Doherty shot two-over 37 on the front.

Skidmore and NYU lead the five-team field after each shot 310. Skidmore's Mitchell Campbell leads individually after a 73. 

The Ducks tee-off on round two tomorrow morning at 7:15 a.m.
