Stevens Enjoys Top-10 Finish At Mason-Dixon

ABBOTTSVILLE, Pa. (October 2, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team finished with a two-day total of 619 Sunday at day two of the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic. 

The two-day event was being played at the 6,713-yard The Bridges Golf Club in southern Pennsylvania. The total placed the Ducks eighth overall in the 13-team field. 

Senior Frank Szucs led the Ducks with scores of 76 and 75 to finish in a tie for 12th with a 151. The veteran shot one-over 37 on the front Sunday before a two-over 38 on the back in a two-birdie round. 

Sophomore Jack Doherty finished just behind Szucs with a 153 after a career-low 73 Sunday. Doherty carded three birdies in the final round, shooting even par on the back. 

Sophomore Ezekiel Zhao and freshman Joseph Kozlowski rounded out the Stevens scoring with totals of 156 and 169. Zhao tallied two birdies for the weekend, with Kozlowki recording three on Sunday to finish the weekend strong. 

Kenyon took the team title with a 589, while McDaniel's Brandon Vance finished first individually with a 141 (-3).

The Ducks will continue their fall schedule next weekend with the Revolutionary Collegiate Golf Classic in Elkton, Md.
