The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College men's golf team placed second overall at the 2016 ECAC Upstate/Metro Championship on Sunday.    It is the first time in 11 years that the Cardinals have not won ECACs.

The two-day tournament was played at Ravenwood Golf Club.

Fisher entered Sunday's final round in fifth place, and moved up three spots, but missed out on first place by just one strokes.   The Cardinals posted a two-day total of 585 (300-285), one shot behind tournament-champion New York University.

Senior Karl Deuble was the tournament's individual runner-up, finishing at minus-2 (72-70).

Nicholas Calabrese shot a 68 on Sunday for the championship's low-round and placed third overall at minus-1.

Joel Jakubowicz (plus-3), Christopher Salone (plus-9) and Jeff Palmerino (plus-11) rounded out the scoring for the Cardinals.

Fisher's Colin McGaugh, competing as an individual, finished at even-par.
