Elmira & Hartwick Register Strong Performances at CCOC Championships
GENEVA, N.Y. -- Elmira and Hartwick cross country recorded solid showings at the Cross Country Only Conference Championships on Saturday in Geneva, NY.
Hartwick senior
Chris Shaw secured 25
th place in a field of 145 athletes. He covered the 8K in 28:03.3.
Senior
Tim Mahony placed 32
nd with a time of 28:35.2. Freshman
Ethan Pine was five spots behind in 37
th. He ran the race in 28:44.8.
Joseph Ziegler III took 44
th in 29:00.9.
James Fritsche '18 posted the best time for Elmira. The Bolton, Connecticut, native finished the eight kilometer race with a time of 29:05.30, good for 46th place out of the 145 racers. Saturday's time was the second best of Fritsche's career and is the best time that any Soaring Eagle has ran all season.
Zac Park '17 closely followed Fritsche and finished a little over 40 seconds behind him. The Roscoe, New York, native's time of 29:48.90, is a new personal record. Park was able to shave a little less than two minutes off of his previous PR which he set at the Highlander Invitational last Saturday.
The Purple and Gold also got a new personal record from
Yoshi Yokoi '19. The Okazaki, Japan, native finished the 8k in 32:12.10. The sophomore Soaring Eagle bested his previous PR which was also set at last week's Highlander Invitational.
