Utica Finishes Second at Hamilton

Clinton, NY – The Utica College men's cross-country team ran at the Hamilton College Tune-Up Invitational today. They finished in second place overall.
 
The team had nine runners finish in the top 20 out of a field of 90 total runners in the 5k. Erik Winberg (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) and Tyler Wright (Little Falls, NY/West Canada Valley) were the first two Pioneers to cross the finish line. Winberg was able to finish second out of all the runners in the day's race. His time was recorded at 16:29.5. Wright was right behind his teammate finishing in third place with a time of 16:30.3.
 
Multiple other runners were able to have strong runs on the day as well. Brian Attas (Hopatcong, NJ/Hopatcong) (11th place/17:02), Nick Ashton (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) (12th place/17:08.4), Daniel Block (Lake Grove, NY/Sachem North) (13th place/17:10.3), Anthony Mitchell (Canastota, NY/Canastota) (16th place/17:19.5), Jon Kulpa (Clinton, NY/Clinton) (17th place/17:22.4), Liam Rodgers (Syracuse, NY/Westhill ) (19th place/17:29.6), and Brandon Eagle (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) (20th place/17:31.7) were all top 20 finishers.
 
On October 29th the Pioneers will be back in action as they head to Hartwick for the Empire 8 Championships. The men will be set to start at 11:45 a.m.
