Sophomore Kaitlyn Stinson of the Utica College women's cross country team was named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week.

This marks the second consecutive week and third time this season that an Empire 8 Runner has earned the honor.

Stinson was the first runner in the field to cross the finish line at the Hamilton College Tune-up Invitational on October 22nd. She came in first place out of 66 runners with a time of 16:06.7 in the 4k. She led the Pioneers as the team came in first place at the meet.

Stinson has been Utica's top finisher in five of the six meets this season. Earlier in the year she ran the third fastest 6k in program history (23:37) at the Paul Short Run on October 1st. She has made three top 10 finishes over the course of the season so far. This is the second time this year she has been named the Empire 8 Female Runner of the Week.

Stinson and the rest of the Pioneers will be back in action this weekend on October 29th, to compete at the Empire 8 Championships starting at 11 a.m.
