Fisher, Ithaca & Utica Compete at Paul Short Invite

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – 
The Ithaca College, St. John Fisher College and Utica College men's cross country teams took part in the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday afternoon.

Ithaca was led by senior Sean Phillips, who placed 11th overall in a time of 24:56 on the 8K course that displayed 401 entries. Phillips was just five seconds from finishing seventh in the meet, and beat his personal best time by 36 seconds. He is also fourth all-time on IC's 8K list.

Out of 401 runners who competed from 45 different Universities, Mac Milligan crossed the finish first for Fisher. The senior ended with a time of 25:20 for the 8K race, good for 31st place overall.

Ithaca unior Tim Chappell shaved 16 seconds off his top time with a performance of 25:45, which placed him 83rd overall.

Coming in at 106th was Fisher's Charles Collins, who finished with a time of 25:56. Just six seconds behind Collins was James Felice, who had a time of 26:02, good for 124th place.

Ithaca senior Chris Gutierrez followed at 132nd in a time of 26:07, a 50-second improvement in the 8K.

Next for the Bombers was senior Jesse Capellaro in 159th at 26:21. It was Capellaro's first race of the season and a personal best by 15 seconds.

Utica freshman Mitchell Marlow led the Pioneers with a time of 26:24 and placed 167th overall.  His time of 26:24 is the sixth fastest 8k in program-history. Marlow posted an average mile time of 5:19. 

Senior Erik Winberg was the second Pioneer finisher, coming in with a time of 26:36 and placing 186th overall. Winberg's time of 26:36 is the 10th fastest 8k in program-history.
