ELMIRA, NY – The Nazareth women's tennis squad took five of six singles matches, along with two of three doubles matches to down Elmira 7-2 on Tuesday evening in conference action.

Nazareth improves to 5-3 overall and 5-2 in Empire 8 play, while Elmira falls to 1-11 and 0-6, respectively.

Jean McCarthy and Elizabeth Karstedt were victorious at second doubles 8-0.  Maelah Nadeau and Aliana Burgos won third doubles 8-2 for Nazareth's second point of the day.

Allison Friends cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win at second singles, while Marisa Joyce took care of third singles 6-3, 6-0.

Karstedt had no trouble blanking Danielle Bliss at fourth singles 6-0, 6-0.

Nadeau won her fifth singles match 6-2, 6-0. Burgos closed out the scoring for Nazareth at sixth singles, 6-1, 6-0. 

Nazareth returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Hartwick at 1 p.m.
