Phillips Competes at NCAA Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior
Sean Phillips of the Ithaca College men's cross country team travel to Louisville, Ky. to compete in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship on Saturday at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
Phillips, who found a spot in this year's championship after a 12th place showing at the Atlantic Regional, finished 148th overall at the national meet with a time of 25:42.7 on the 8K course. He posted an average of 5:10.4 per mile and was 135th at the 6.22K mark.
North Central won the team title with 60 points as five of its runners finished within the top 24. Ian LeMere of Wisconsin-Platteville claimed the individual championship with a time of 23:40.4.
During the 2016 season, Phillips won the Empire 8 Conference individual championship and was named runner of the week four times by the Empire 8.
