Saxons and Cardinals Ranked No. 1 & 3 Regionally
The NCAA released its first Division III football regional rankings of the season and Alfred University and St. John Fisher College is ranked number one and three, respectively, in the East. The rankings are based on all games played through Oct. 30.
The unbeaten Saxons (8-0, 6-0 Empire 8) are ranked 15
th and 19
th, respectively, in the D3football.com and American Football Coaches Association (ACFA) national Top 25 polls. AU sits atop the regional rankings ahead of second-ranked Stevenson (8-0, 14
th D3football.com, 12
thAFCA), third-ranked St. John Fisher (7-1, 23
rd in both national polls), fourth-ranked Salisbury (7-1, 18
th in both national polls), and fifth-ranked St. Lawrence (8-0, 16
th D3football.com, 12
th AFCA).
The top-ranked teams in the other three regions are: Mount Union (North), Mary Hardin Baylor (South), and Wisconsin-Whitewater (West).
