Dobles ranks first in save percentage
ROCHESTER, N.Y. --
Brayden Dobles, senior goalkeeper on the Nazareth women's soccer team, has enjoyed a record-breaking season for the Golden Flyers.
Dobles, of Spencerport, N.Y. and a graduate of Spencerport High School, currently ranks first in all of Division III in save percentage at .952. She has started all 18 games for the Golden Flyers (14-2-2) in 2016 and has 79 saves while allowing just four goals. She also ranks seventh nationally in goals-against average at 0.23.
Dobles also has set a Nazareth record for career shutouts with 27 and recently tied the single-season mark with 12 shutouts. She brings a streak of 927 scoreless minutes into Saturday's Empire 8 Conference semifinal game against Ithaca. That game will be play at Stevens at 3 p.m. Top-seeded Stevens plays Hartwick in the other semifinal. Sunday's championship game is at 1 p.m.
"It's a great tribute to Brayden and to our defense overall as to what we have accomplished," said Nazareth Coach
Gail Mann. "Hopefully, we can keep the streak alive through the weekend."
Nazareth will be seeking its 11th Empire 8 Conference title and its 10th NCAA Tournament appearance this weekend in Hoboken, N.J.
