DANBURY, Conn. -- Sophomore Rachel Buyan (Huntington Beach, Calif./Edison) collected First Team honors and senior Amanda Steffey (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) was named to the Second Team when the 2016 ECAC Division III South Field Hockey All-Stars were announced.

Both were previously named First Team All-Empire 8 and Second Team All-North Atlantic Region by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association this year.

Buyan led the Presidents in goals this year (as a defender) with 16 (six game-winners), while ranking second on the team, behind Steffey, with 37 points. The Huntington Beach, California native will enter her junior campaign next season already on the W&J top 10 list in career goals (21) and one point shy of the points list at 52.

Steffey finished her career with four All-Empire 8 awards (three first team) and two All-Region nods. She ended her career as W&J's all-time assists leader with 28 helpers, thanks to a career-best 14 this season, good for eighth in the nation (0.70 per game). The Penn-Trafford product also finished second in goals (47) and points (122) on the W&J lists. For her performance this year, Steffey was selected to participate in the NFHCA Division III Senior Game which coincided with the NCAA Division III Championship weekend in Geneva, N.Y.

The 2016 Presidents finished 15-5 overall, matching the program record for wins in a season. W&J advanced to the Empire 8 Championship Game and the quarterfinals of the ECAC Division III Field Hockey tournament.
