Three Corvias ECAC Athletes of the Week
Three Empire 8 student-athletes have been honored as the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Athletes of the Week in the Upstate region for their performances during the week of Feb. 1-7, 2016.
Men’s Basketball – Upstate
Player of the Week
Keegan Ryan – St. John Fisher College, Jr., Forward, Plattsburgh, N.Y.
Keegan Ryan posted three double-doubles as he totaled 65 points and 37 rebounds in the three conference wins for Fisher while shooting 58 percent from the floor. He started with 17 points, 12 rebounds and three assists against Utica on Monday, and then finished with 20 points and 10 boards against Ithaca on Thursday. Ryan then capped his week with a career-high 28 points in an overtime win over Nazareth on Saturday, while pulling down 15 rebounds.
Men’s Swimming & Diving - Upstate
Swimmer of the Week
Raphael Warnon – Utica College, Sr., Rock Tavern, N.Y.
Raphael Warnon placed first in the 100-yard backstroke (56.09) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:02.49). He also helped the 200-yard freestyle relay place first and the 200-yard medley relay place second.

Swimmer of the Week
Grace Gallentine – Utica College, So., Clifton Springs, N.Y.
Grace Gallentine placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:08.58), the 100-yard freestyle (58.55), and the 50-yard freestyle (26.52). She also was a part of the 200-yard freestyle relay that placed first with a time of 1:54.61.
