Alfred Names Mark Zupan Next President
The Alfred University Board of Trustees has selected Mark Zupan as the 14th president of Alfred University. He will succeed Charles M. Edmondson, effective July 1, 2016.
In our search for a new president for Alfred University, we wanted someone who demonstrated scholarly excellence, who has forged successful partnerships within the public and private sectors, and who has developed strong academic programs.
In Mark Zupan, Alfred University is getting a world-class scholar, someone with proven records in developing and implementing new academic programs, a successful fund-raiser, and a leader who has forged partnerships within his community.
Alfred University has been very fortunate to have had a number of excellent presidents, most recently Charley Edmondson, who has done a remarkable job during his 16 years as president. Mark Zupan will carry on that tradition of excellence.
Dr. Zupan is now the director of the Bradley Policy Center as well as the Olin Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester after previously serving as dean of the School for 10 years.
