Gambill and Smith Earn NYSCTC Honors
Utica College junior Nicodemus Gambill and Ithaca College junior Brandy Smith have been honored with weekly honors for the week ending Feb. 13 by the New York State Collegiate Track Conference (
NYSCTC).
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Ithaca College junior Brandy Smith won both the Weight Throw and Shot Put at the Empire 8 Championships. Her toss of 18.28 meters (59'11.75”) in the Weight Throw is a new conference meet record and currently ranks #3 in NCAA Division III.
Men’s Track Co-Athlete of the Week
Utica College junior Nicodemus Gambill broke the Empire 8 Conference Meet records in winning both the 60 meters (:06.91) and 200 meters (:22.22). Both performances were also Utica College school records, and Gambill ranks #8 in NCAA Division III in both events.
