Rivera wins weight throw at NYSCTC meet

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Nazareth senior
Luis Rivera was dominant for Nazareth yet again the 35-pound weight throw as he finished first in that event Friday at the NYSCTC track and field championships at Ithaca's Athletics and Events Center.
Rivera had a winning toss of 19.07 meters (62 feet, 6 3/4 inches) to lead the Golden Flyers' men's team on day one of the two-day competition. Senior
Brandon Vuolo was sixth in the same event with a distance of 15.44 meters (50 feet, 8 inches) and sophomore
Tyler Hancock was seventh with a distance of 15.35 meters (50 feet, 4 1/2 inches).
Nazareth also finished second and third respectively in the 400-meter prelims as senior Tom Sippee and sophomore
Nick LaBarbera led the way. Sippee was timed in :50.04 and LaBarbera in :50.07. Freshman
Michael-Jordan Morris was fourthy in the 60-meter hurdle prelims with a time of 8.68 seconds.
