Girardi and Wiatr Earn NYSCTC Honors
St. John Fisher College sophomore Peter Girardi and Utica College senior Sarah Wiatr have been honored with weekly honors for the week ending January 30 by the New York State Collegiate Track Conference (
NYSCTC).
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
St. John Fisher College sophomore Peter Girardi won the 60 hurdles (:08.25) and the 500 meters (1:07.70) at the Brockport Golden Eagle Multi & Invitational. His winning time in the 60 hurdles is currently ranked #8 in NCAA Division III, and he established new Fisher school records in both events.
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Utica College senior Sarah Wiatr won the Triple Jump at the Brockport Golden Eagle Multi & Invitational with a top jump of 11.84 meters (38’10.25”). This performance is currently #2 on the NCAA Division III descending order list.
