Belson, Helly and JUrczyk Earn All-American Status at NCAAs

Greensboro, N.C. – Anna Belson and Katie Helly of Ithaca College each had strong showings on the 1-meter board and Stevens Institute of Technology sophomore Sarah Jurczyk had a strong performance in the 100 butterfly.

Belson finished fourth overall in the 1-meter and was named All-American for the second time in her career after the sophomore beat out 21 other participants with 424.20 points.  

Helly finished 12th overall and was named Honorable Mention All-American for the first time in her career after notching 400.65 points in the preliminary round, which qualified her for the consolation final.  Helly would go on to improve her score in the finals with 418.0 points overall.

Jurczyk notched a 11th place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.68 to earn Honorable Mention All-American.

The 200-free relay team from Stevens consisting of Jurczyk, senior Jennifer Rutledge, freshman Courtney Jones and junior Danielle Caruso tallied two team points by finishing with a 16th place time of 1:35.75.

Caruso placed 17th in the 200-free, narrowly missing the finals by one second.
