HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 2, 2016) – Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse senior Erika Wilcox became the eighth player in the history of the program to record 200 career points Wednesday in the Ducks 15-5, season-opening win over Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham.

The win moved Stevens to 8-1 in its last nine season openers, while FDU fell to 0-2 this season.

Sophomore Cami Santor led all players with a career-high eight points off six assists and two goals, while Wilcox tallied five goals with one assist. Sophomore Julianna Ricci scored four times and scooped-up three ground balls, and junior Caroline DeLuca scored twice.

As a team, the Ducks outshot FDU 32-12 including a 28-10 margin in shots on goal. Stevens also dominated on draw-controls 14-8, and forced 15 FDU turnovers.

FDU struck first with a score in the game's opening three minutes, but Santor promptly responded less than two minutes later with the equalizer. Junior Kathleen Kalbian put the Ducks in front during the 21-minute mark with her first goal of the season, followed 90 seconds later with Santor's second of the game off a feed from Wilcox.

Wilcox kept the momentum going soon after that with her milestone goal to put the Ducks up three, before Ricci grew the lead to four with a goal from a Santor pass.

Wilcox and DeLuca combined to make it 7-1 going into the second half with goals late in the first, followed by scores from Ricci and Wilcox early in the second to make it 9-2. FDU cut into the deficit with a goal seven minutes in, but three straight from the Ducks ballooned the lead to nine.

FDU responded once again with a pair of goals one minute apart late in the second, but it's as close as they would get the remainder of the afternoon as two goals from Wilcox and one from Ricci put an exclamation point on the victory.
