Houghton Opens Spring Season with Loss to Cedarville

HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton men's tennis got their spring season underway with a 9-0 loss to Cedarville University in the Kerr-Pegula Field House on Thursday.

Connor Barnes produced the closest match of the day in fifth singles. Barnes lost to Jonathan Class 6-4, 4-6, 10-5.

Chase Rangel lost 6-0, 6-0 in first singles, Zach Shilvock fell 6-2,-6-2 in second singles, Ethan Baker lost 6-0, 6-1 in third singles, Bjorn Webb fell 6-0, 6-1 in fouirth singles, while Daniel Hammers lost 6-0, 6-1 in sixth singles.

In doubles play, the Highlanders lost all three matches.

The Highlanders are now 0-3 on the season.

The team is back in action when they travel to take on Pitt-Bradford on Tuesday, March 1.
