Utica's "Pie Your Coach" Set for Wednesday

UTICA, NY - On Wednesday (3/2/16) members of the Utica College athletic department will participate in the annual "Pie Your Coach" fundraiser outside of the Utica College Dining Commons just outside of the cafeteria from 12 to 2 p.m.
 
The event will be part of Utica College's "Team UC" fundraising effort for the 2016 "America's Greatest Heart Run & Walk," which will take place in Utica on March 4 and 5. Participants can donate one dollar to throw a pie at the coach of their choice. Blaise Faggiano and Will Pluff (football team) will be pied at 12:00 p.m. At 12:15 p.m. it will be Nikki Kieffer (Rome, NY/Lysander Lightning) (Field Hockey) and Danielle Alpi (Softball). The men's soccer coaches Brian Marcantonio and Alex Fisher will be at 12:30 p.m. while Gregory Copeland, Devyn Ramsay, Jessica Rhyner, and Kristen Willson of the track and field team will be at 12:45 p.m. At 1:00 p.m. Laurel Pinkley and Maura Reissig will be set to be pied while at 1:15 p.m. men's basketball assistant coach Steve Zurich will be there. At 1:45 p.m. Eileen Coyle and Elena Dauphinais (women's soccer) will be the final coaches to be pied.
 
Each year close to 10,000 people participate in the Heart Run & Walk to help raise funds and awareness for the fight against heart disease. The Heart Run & Walk Expo will be hosted on campus at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium once again this year. Any member of the Utica College community is welcome to join Team UC.
