ROCHESTER, NY – Rachel Mertens pitched a no-hitter to blank Morrisville State 8-0 in five innings, before Nazareth fell 3-2 in game two Saturday in the Golden Flyers home-opening games.  The junior is third pitcher in program history to pitch a no-hit game but the first to do so in five innings.  Mertens struck out six, while walking two batters.  She improves to 4-2 on the year with the win.

The Golden Flyers move to 7-5 overall, while Morrisville improves to 4-6. 

Nazareth returns to action on Wednesday, March 30 when it will host Brockport for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
