Iseneker Named NCBWA Pitcher Of The Week
The Division III National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association awarded St. John Fisher College's Mark Iseneker Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 27
th.
Iseneker, a junior right-handed pitcher from Sherrill, NY, was masterful for the Cardinals in a 9-0 win over Elmira Saturday, March 26. Also the Empire 8 Conference's Pitcher of the Week, he became the first Fisher player to have a no-hitter since the 2011 season and is just the second player in Fisher history to record the feat.
The junior, facing the minimum 27 batters, struck out a season-high 11 and allowed just one to reach base on a lead-off walk in the second inning. The runner was taken away with a double play, and the final 22 hitters were retired with the ball leaving the infield only twice. With the win, Iseneker, who owns a 2.65 earned run average and a conference-leading 41 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched, improved to 2-1 on the season.
