Four Empire 8 student-athletes have been honored as the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Athletes of the Week in the Upstate region for their performances during the week of March 21-27, 2016.

Baseball – Metro/Upstate
Pitcher of the Week
Marc Iseneker – St. John Fisher College, Jr., Pitcher, Sherrill, N.Y. 
Iseneker recorded the first no-hitter of his career last Saturday, holding Elmira hitless and compiling 11 strikeouts in a 9-0 win.
 
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Metro/Upstate
Athlete of the Week
Shane Ruffing – Utica College, Sr., Rochester, N.Y. 
Ruffing placed first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.42 and in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.67 at the Continental Invitational. He was also a member of the 4x400 meter relay that placed first with a time of 3:26.80.
 
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Metro/Upstate
Rookie of the Week
Keanu Heedram – Utica College, Fr., Rochester, N.Y. 
Heedram placed first in the shot put and the discus throw at the Continental Invitational. He had a throw of 14.43 meters in the shot put and a throw of 44.46 meters in the discus.
 
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Metro/Upstate
Athlete of the Week
Katherine Pitman – Ithaca College, Jr., Swampscott, Mass.
Pitman cleared 3.80 meters to win the pole vault and set a new school record at the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna University. Pitman broke her own school record and topped the field by .45 meters.
