Scranton Opens Spring By Splitting Tri-Match With Wilkes & King’s
SHAVERTOWN, Pa. – Freshman Kyle Hayes (East Norwich, N.Y./Oyster Bay) took medalist honors with a 10-over-par 82 to help The University of Scranton men's golf team open the spring portion of its schedule by splitting a tri-match with Wilkes and King's at Huntsville Golf Club.
The Royals finished with a four-golfer total of 339, two strokes behind Wilkes and 12 ahead of King's. While Hayes led the way, Wilkes was able to edge the Royals (9-2) thanks to an 83, a pair of 84s and an 86 for their team total of 337.
Freshman Andrew Milisits (Northampton, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) added an 84 for Scranton, while senior Eric Montella (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) fired an 86 and junior Kevin Nardella (Spring Brook Township, Pa./North Pocono) rounded out the top four with an 87.
Scranton will be back in action on Tuesday, April 5, when they host King's and Wilkes at 1 p.m. at Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, Pa.
