Stevens' DMR Sets School-Record At Tufts

MEDFORD, Mass. (March 4, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's distance medley relay team set a new school record at the Tufts Last Chance Meet Friday.

The team of sophomore Greg Arabagian, senior Shane Chiaravalle and juniors Michael John and Nicholas Zickgraf bested the old mark of 10:20, with a new standard of 10:05.8. The old mark was set back in 2008. Junior Brian Fratto finished second in the 60m with a school record time of 7.14.

Chiaravalle notched a first place finish of 22.35 in the 200-meters, edging second place by .02 seconds. Senior Kristopher Alvarez broke his own school-record in the 60-hurdles, recording a third place time of 8.33.

In the field events, freshman Andy Accardi pole vaulted 4.26m, while junior Neil Forrester tossed the shot put 14.21m, good for seventh place.
