Wooters Earns USILA/Lids Weekly Honor
Senior attackman Luke Wooters of the Nazareth men's lacrosse team was named the USILA/Lids Team Sports Division III Offensive Player of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, March 6, 2016.
Wooters, this week's Empire 8 Player of the Week, spearheaded Nazareth's 13-9 non-conference win over seventh-ranked Cortland last Friday with eight points on four goals and four assists, marking the Golden Flyers' first win over the Red Dragons since 2007. Already the Golden Flyers' all-time leader in career goals with 152, Wooters leads the team in scoring in 2016 with 23 points on 11 goals and 12 assists through three games.
Nazareth, ranked 15th nationally at the start of last week, is 3-0 in 2016 and travels to Tampa, Fla. Saturday March 12 to play Clarkson in a non-conference game at 3:30 p.m.
