No. 23 Stevens Wins Twice
ITHACA, N.Y. (April 9, 2016) – The No. 23 Stevens Institute of Technology continued its undefeated Empire 8 Conference schedule Saturday with 9-0 wins over Elmira College and Ithaca College.
The wins moved Stevens to 9-6 (4-0).

Jacob Thigpen and freshman
Divin Sarthak grabbed Stevens the early lead with an 8-1 win at first doubles, followed by another 8-1 win at No. 1 for juniors
Michael Feldman Antonio Perich. Sophomore
William Persson and
David Schulz completed the doubles sweep soon after with an 8-6 win at third.
The win was the first of the season for Thigpen/Sarthak, while Feldman/Perich and Persson/Schulz moved their respective records to 2-0.
Perich made it 4-0 with a straight-set win at fourth singles, followed by the match clinching 6-1, 6-2 win for Feldman at first. Schulz and Thigpen both picked-up 6-0, 6-0 wins at fifth and sixth respectively, while Persson won 6-2, 6-0 at second.
Sarthak dropped his first set 7-5 at third, but recovered with a 6-3 win in the second and a tiebreaker win in the third.

Kyle Henry completed the doubles sweep soon after with an 8-4 victory at second.
The win moved Heinrich/Foran to 9-1 this spring, while Henry/Polk pushed its record to 6-4.
Polk continued the winning with a 6-1, 6-3 win at third singles, before Heinrich clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1. Foran followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 4, followed by Henry's 6-3, 6-3 win at fifth.
With the match in hand, Cenderelli recovered from a first-set loss to take the win at No. 6 3-6, 6-0, 10-6, before Drake completed the sweep with a straight-set win at second.
