Heinrich, Polk Win In No. 23 Stevens' Loss To No. 31 Skidmore
HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 10, 2016) – The No. 23 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team won at first and third singles Sunday, but dropped the match 7-2 to No. 31 Skidmore College.
The loss dropped Stevens to 9-7, while Skidmore moved to 8-3. The match was the ninth of the year for Stevens against an ITA top-40 team.
Skidmore jumped out to an early lead thanks to a double sweep. Seniors

Ben Foran fell 8-5 at first, while sophomore

Kyle Henry and junior
Charles Drake and freshman
Kyle Cenderelli lost 8-5 at second and third respectively.
Skidmore sealed the match with wins at second, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles, but the Ducks did pick-up wins at first and third.
Heinrich won in straight sets 6-1, 6-4 at first over fifth-ranked Kai Yuen Leung, while Polk bounced-back from a first set loss at third with a 6-7, 6-4, 10-6 win over Kit Sanderson.
The Ducks will be back in action Wednesday when they host New York University at 3 p.m. on the Stevens tennis courts.
