Scranton Splits Tri-Match With King’s, Lycoming

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Freshman Kyle Hayes (East Norwich, N.Y./Oyster Bay) shot an 8-over-par 79 to lead The University of Scranton men's golf team in a tri-match against King's and Lycoming on Wednesday afternoon at Wyoming Valley Country Club.

The Royals (11-3) shot a four-player score of 327, 10 shots behind King's, but easily ahead of Lycoming's 408.

Scranton also received a pair of 82s from senior Ryan Brown (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) and junior Kevin Nardella(Spring Brook Township, Pa./North Pocono). Sophomore David Harris (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) rounded out the top four scores with an 84.

The Royals will be back in action this weekend when they play the third and fourth rounds of the Empire 8 Conference championships on Saturday and Sunday at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pa.
