Utica Earns First Victory Against Sage

TROY, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team defeated The Sage Colleges 8-1 in non-conference on Wednesday. The Pioneers were led to victory with five singles victories and three doubles victories.\

Kevin Vo (Utica, NY/Proctor) won 6-1 and 6-0 while Raphael Warnon (Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville) and Edgar Aguilar (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) won by the same score in singles action. Matt Rogers (East Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) won 6-0 and 6-0 while Paul Litvak (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln) won by the same score. The team of Vo and Warnon , Rogers and Jacob Nigolian (Syracuse, NY/Westhill), and Litvak and Franklin Guebara (Utica, NY/Proctor) all won their doubles matches 8-1.

The Pioneers improve to 1-5 on the year while the Gators fall to 0-6. Utica returns to action on Saturday as it hosts Empire 8 Conference opponent Hartwick College. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
