Russell Has Record Breaking Day
UTICA, NY – The Utica College softball team earned a pair of run-rule victories over visiting Houghton College in Empire 8 Conference action at Greenman Field Saturday. The Pioneers won game one 12-2 in five innings and came back with a 9-1 victory in five innings in game two. Senior shortstop
Alysa Russell (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) was a perfect 6-for-6 at the plate with five runs scored, three RBIs, four stolen bases and a leadoff home run in game two. Russell moved into second place on the College's all-time list with 22 career home runs and she also set a new single season program record with 20 stolen bases this season. Russell also moved into first place on the College's all-time list as she now has 128 career runs scored. She is now second on the all-time hits list with 195 and she is just the fourth player in program-history to record 100 or more career RBIs.
