READING, PA – The Utica College men's track & field team posted nine first place finishes Saturday at the Alvernia Crusader Invitational at Schlager Memorial Field. Freshman Jordan Smith (Tolland, CT/Tolland High School) won the javelin and shattered the school-record by close to five meters as he posted a throw of 56.00 meters.

His personal best and new school-record toss currently ranks 22nd nationally on the NCAA Division III National Outdoor qualifying list.  Smith has posted back-to-back victories in the javelin to open the outdoor season, as he also won the Pioneers' first outdoor meet of the season at Hamilton.
