St. John Fisher College men's golf standout Corey Haas has been named as a semifinalist for the 2016 Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award presented by Barbasol.  Finalists for NCAA Division III will be named at the GCAA Division III National Awards Banquet on May 10th at Midvale Country Club. Nicklaus Award recipients will be announced June 2 with the honor presented by Jack Nicklaus at a ceremony during the final round of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

Haas, a two-time Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year, leads the nationally-ranked men's golf team.  Fisher won the Empire 8 Conference Championship last weekend to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III, hosted by St. John Fisher College at Midvale Country Club and Mendon Golf Club.

Haas has enjoyed seven top-10 finishes this year in nine tournaments. He was the medalist at the Flower City Championship, beating out a field of 90 for first place.  A two-time All-Region selection and a four-time All-Conference First Team pick, Haas has also been the runner-up three different times this year.

Fisher's Scott Harris Jr. won the Jack Nicklaus Award in 2008.
