Stevens (8-0 in E8) has secured the top seed of the 2016 Men's Tennis Championships and will also serve as the host for the tournament to be contested Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8. Ithaca (7-1) has clinched the No. 2 seed but the final two spots are up for grabs between Houghton (5-3), Nazareth (4-3), Fisher (4-3) and Elmira (3-4).
Nazareth faces 2-5 Alfred in their final regular season match on Sunday while Fisher plays Elmira. If Fisher, Houghton and Nazareth all finish 5-3, Fisher would earn the 3rd seed via tie-breakers. The teams would be 1-1 in head-to-head-to-head play however the next tie-breaker would be points earned in head-to-head matches amongst tied teams. The Cardinals would have a 10-8 edge over Houghton (9-9) and Nazareth (8-10). Nazareth would then earn the 4th seed as a result of its head-to-head win over the Highlanders. Should Elmira defeat Fisher and Nazareth also suffer a loss, the three teams would be tied at 4-4. As a result Houghton would earn the third seed. In this scenario Naz/SJFC and EC will also have split head-to-head leaving the tie-breaker for the final berth at points earned which will be dependent upon the score of the final match between Fisher and Elmira.
