Fisher and Naz Compete at Hershey Cup
The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College men's golf team shot a 319 on Monday and placed fifth overall at the Hershey Cup with a two-day total of 645. Nazareth placed 14th in a highgly competitive field. Nazareth had team scores of 352 and 344 for a 696 total.
Jeff Palmerino led the way for Fisher, finished tied for second overall among the 87 participants. Palmerino shot a 78 on Monday and finished with two-day total of 153. Senior
Corey Haas was two shots behind his teammate and placed tied for fourth overall with a 155, shaving five shots off of yesterday's round of 80.
Christopher Salone also enjoyed a team-10 finish, shooting a 157 (79-78). Teammates
Karl Deuble and
Christopher Thompson both shot 88 on Monday for Fisher's fourth-counting score.
Nicholas Calabrese,
Ian Campbell and
Robert Stehlin also competed in the tournament on an individual basis. Calabrese finished tied for 10th with a 157 (80-77), while Campbell (81-77) and Stehlin (79-79) both placed tied for 14th overall.
Junior
Kyle Bromley was Nazareth's top performer with rounds of 83 and 84 for a 167 total, earning him a tie for 53rd place individually. Senior
Sean de Herder was next in 72nd place with back-to-back rounds of 86 for a 172 total.
Also competing for Nazareth were junior Jon Gerken (90-88 -- 178); senior
Caleb McGuire (93-86 -- 179) and freshman
Dominic Cicchetti (95-95 -- 190).
