Gobrecht Earns USILA/Lids Weekly Honor
Senior defenseman of the Ithaca men's lacrosse team was named the USILA/Lids Team Sports Division III Offensive Player of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, April 3, 2016.
Gobrecht led the defensive charge against Cortland and Stevens to put both games in the win column for the Bombers. Gobrecht combined to cause 11 turnovers with 21 groundballs in the two games, and picked up 12 groundballs in an 18-12 win over Cortland scooping up nine more in a 17-7 conference win over Stevens. He currently ranks fourth nationally and first in the Empire 8 with 38 caused turnovers on the season.
The Bombers will close out their four-game homestand at 12 p.m. on Saturday when they host nationally-ranked Nazareth College in an Empire 8 battle at Higgins Field. Ithaca will celebrate its senior class beforehand.
