Fisher Remains In The Hunt At NCAAs

St. John Fisher College shot a 301 on Thursday in the third round of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship at Midvale Country Club.

The Cardinals remain in eighth place overall with a three-day total of 904 (+44).  The Cardinals are 16 total strokes back of Claremont-Mudds-Scripps.  The Stags, who carded a 302 today, are at +28 overall and have led at the end of all three rounds.   Otterbein College is in second-place overall at +35, followed by Methodist (+36), Wittenberg (+37) and Huntington (+37).

Junior Karl Deuble led Fisher on the day and finished at +1, despite bogeying three of his final four holes.  Only two players in today's field posted a better score.

Ian Campbell bogeyed his first hole of the day, but made 16 pars over his final 17 holes and finished at +2.

Corey Haas parred out the last seven holes and finished at +4 to remain in ninth place overall for the championship.   Jeff Palmerino closed out the scoring for the Cardinals, finishing at +6.

Tee times have been announced for Friday's final round.  The Cardinals will go off No. 10 at Midvale, starting at 9:40 a.m.
