TROY, N.Y. –
The Ithaca College women's track & field program won its eighth consecutive NYSCTC Championship on Saturday at RPI with 195.5 points. Junior Katherine Pitman was named Field Athlete of the Meet, while Jennifer Potter and her staff received Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

Junior Brandy Smith blew away the field in the discus with a mark of 49.54 meters (162 feet, 6 inches) to set a new meet record. Smith won the event by over nine meters.

Sophomore Denise Ibarra was a runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 11:02.59, while senior Michaela Cioffredi and junior Kristin Lynn took sixth and seventh in times of 11:38.03 and 11:41.98.

Sophomore Taryn Cordani claimed second in the 5,000-meter run in 17:33.84, while Ibarra was sixth in 18.21.27.

Sophomore Grace Ryan leaped 11.61 meters (38' 1.25") in the triple jump to come in second overall, while seniors Christine Kelly (10.81 meters – 35' 5.75") and Emily Williams (10.68 meters – 35' 0.5") were fifth and sixth.

Freshman Lusmer Quintana was a second place finisher in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.55 seconds, while seniors Sarah Werner and Lizzi Dowling placed fifth and sixth at 12.86 and 12.91 seconds.

Brandy Smith came in fourth overall in the shot put at 12.46 meters (40' 10.5"). Classmate Francesca Boylan was seventh with a mark of 11.85 meters (38' 10.5").

Sophomore Sierra Grazia came in fourth overall in the 800-meter run in 2:17.42. Freshman Emilie Mertz was eighth in a time of 2:20.25.

Ryan clocked a time of 25.90 seconds in the 200-meter dash to take fourth, while senior Eliza Dewart was eighth in 26.66 seconds.

Ryan and junior Natalie Meyer were fourth and fifth in the high jump with marks of 1.59 meters (5' 2.5") and 1.54 meters (5' 0.5").

Freshman Gianna Folz came in fifth overall in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 15.79 seconds, while sophomore Sophia Feuer was sixth in the 400-meter dash in 59.64 seconds.

The 4x100-meter relay of Quintana, Werner, Dowling and Dewart were fifth at 50.05 seconds. The 4x400-meter squad of Grazia, junior Colleen Smith, sophomore Brianna Hayes and freshman Viktoria Schultz finished fifth in 4:04.55.

Cordani and senior Anna Fay claimed sixth and seventh in the 1,500-meter run with times of 4:42.12 and 4:45.47 on Saturday.

Freshman Britney Swarthout placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:05.95.

Ithaca will head to St. John Fisher next weekend for a last chance qualifier.
