Top 10 Finish For Fisher Golf At NCAAs
The St. John Fisher College finished with a four-day total of 1,226 (+78) and placed 10
th over at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship, hosted by Midvale Country Club.
It is the third top 10 finish for the Cardinals in the last four years and the fourth-best finish at nationals in the program history.
Fisher spent the first half of the day near the top of the leaderboard. Fisher made the turn at +12, just five strokes out of second place, but struggled in the gusting wind over the final nine holes.
The Cardinals ended the day at 314 (+29), their highest round over the four days.
Lone senior
Corey Haas closed out his career in style, shooting a solid 76 and placed sixth overall for the championship (74-72-76-76).
Ian Campbell came in 34
th overall for the tournament (72-81-74-80), while
Karl Deuble (74-77-78-82) and
Jeff Palmerino (78-76-73-84) both finished tied for 51
st overall.
