Wiatr Breaks Own School-Record in Triple Jump

Pittsford, NY – The Utica College women's track & field team competed at the Cardinal Last Chance Meet hosted by St. John Fisher College on Saturday. Sarah Wiatr (Poland, NY/West Canada Valley) moved into fourth on the national outdoor qualifying list with a school-record distance of 12.28 meters in the triple jump. She also ranks 27th in the nation after her personal best leap of 5.59 meters in the long jump. 

Anaelle Amy (Brooklyn, NY/Prospect Heights) placed fourth in the 100 meter dash finals for the Pioneers.  In the qualifying race she landed her best time of the day (12.86). Mikey Maxwell (Newport, NY/West Canada Valley) placed third in the 100 meter hurdle finals with a time of 15.53.

Molly Ferguson (Abington, MA/Abington High School) placed third in the women's discus with a toss of 36.88 meters. Jade Jenkins (Liverpool, NY/CNS) placed ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.57 meters, while Rylee Meelan (Clinton, NY/Clinton) added a 13th place finish in the long jump with a distance of 4.84 meters.

The Pioneers return to action next week when they travel to Westfield State in Westfield, Mass. to participate in the ECAC Championships.
