Wilcox Named All-American
Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse senior
Erika Wilcox was named Second Team
IWLCA All-American Wednesday, making her one of the top-48 Division III women's lacrosse players in the country.
Wilcox led the Ducks and the Empire 8 Conference in scoring this season with 67 goals, and finished second in the conference with 4.47 points per game. The captain was also a crucial factor on draw controls, finishing second on the team with 49. Wilcox averaged 3.94 goals per game, and scored at least three times in 12 of Stevens' 17 contests.
Against E8 opponents, Wilcox averaged nearly five goals per game, including a stretch of six goals in each of Stevens' final three regular season games. Wilcox also tallied 28 ground balls in addition to eight caused turnovers.
Wilcox's .588 shooting percentage was the best mark on the team, while her 83 shots on goal were also good for tops on Stevens. Earlier this season, Wilcox became just the third player in program history to reach 200 career goals after amassing the 200 point mark in early March.
The honor is another in a long list for Wilcox this season that includes a second straight E8 Player of the Year award, Stevens' NCAA Sportswoman of the Year award, an IWLCA First Team All-Region nod, and the team's most valuable player award.
Wilcox leaves Stevens top five all-time in goals, points, shots, and draw controls.
