HOBOKEN, N.J. (May 26, 2016) – For the first time in program history, senior Jayson Yano of the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team was named a Gold Glove award winner by the American Baseball Coaches Association Thursday.

Yano set the program standard as a shortstop, after boasting a .995 fielding percentage. In 205 chances as a fielder, the senior committed only one error, while recording 112 putouts and 92 assists. On the mound, the Foothill Ranch, Calif. native picked off 12 runners.

A two-time Empire 8 Conference Pitcher and Player of the Year, Yano also collected Third Team All-American honors from d3baseball.com and was named All-Region by d3baseball.com and the ABCA.
