Lewis and Yano Earn D3baseball.com All-American Honors

Senior Jayson Yano of Stevens Institute of Technology and Stephen Lewis of St. John Fisher College were named All-Americans by d3baseball.com. Yano is a Third-Team honoree, while Lewis was tabbed Honorable Mention.

The All-American nod is the second straight for Yano, who was chosen a Second Team member last spring. Earlier this season, the senior collected First Team All-NY Region by d3baseball.com and Second Team All-NY Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Within the Empire 8 Conference, Yano was named Pitcher and Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, while also garnering First Team All-Conference as a utility player. The Foothill Ranch, Calif. native became the program leader in hits, and .385 with 62 hits and 32 stolen bases. On the mound, Yano went 5-3 with a 2.15 earned run average to go along with 69 strikeouts.

Lewis guided the Cardinals to their best season in program history with 39 wins and first trip to the NCAA Division III Men's College World Series. He also earned All-New York Region honors from both the ABCA and D3baseball.com this year and was a two-time Empire 8 All-Conference honoree.

The East Rochester, New York native posted a 7-1 record this year to close out his final season as a Cardinal and in his two years at Fisher tallied a 10-1 overall career mark. His only loss came in the CWS against Keystone College.

Lewis ranked third on the team in strikeouts with 42 and fourth in ERA with a 2.71.  The lefty ranks sixth on the program's all-time career list with an ERA of 2.62 in a 123.2 innings pitched.

The senior posted a season-high twice in strikeouts with seven on back-to-back starts against conference opponent Elmira College and non-conference foe Rochester Institute of Technology. In both contest combined he allowed only three runs, while fanning 14 players in 13 innings of work.
