Amy Regan of Stevens Institute of Technology was named the Indoor/Outdoor Track Female Scholar Athlete of the Year in NCAA Division III for the 2015-16 season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.

Scholar Athletes of the Year were selected as the highest finishing performers at the NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships who achieved All-Academic status. Those who won individual championship titles ranked higher in the tie-breaking process and cumulative GPA is weighed as the final tiebreaker.

Separate awards are given to track athletes and field athletes for the indoor and outdoor season for a total of four categories, but Regan swept both track awards.

Regan, a senior majoring in Engineering Management, earned a GPA of 3.837. The native of Green Brook, New Jersey is the first athlete from Stevens to be named the Indoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year and Outdoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year. Regan simply dominated the DIII distance scene this season, sweeping both the indoor (3000/5000) and outdoor distance titles (5000/10000), posting an average margin of victory by 15 seconds.
