Jordan Named Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Stevens
HOBOKEN, N.J. –
Dale Jordan was named Stevens Institute of Technology's head men's soccer coach Monday by Director of Athletics
Russell Rogers, making him the seventh head coach in the history of the storied program.
Jordan comes to Stevens after a two-year stint as the assistant coach at Hobart College, helping the team to 25 wins and a pair of Liberty League semifinal appearances. Jordan coached 11 all-conference performers during the period including six first teamers.
"We were fortunate to have an extremely talented pool of candidates, and Dale really fit the profile for what we were looking for in a new head men's soccer coach," Rogers said. "His knowledge of the game, understanding of the overall development of the student-athlete, and energy level really caught my attention. I can't wait for him to get started and very much look forward to a new era of Stevens Soccer under Dale's leadership."
Prior to Hobart, Jordan spent the previous four seasons combined on the staffs at Rochester Institute of Technology, Monroe Community College and Nazareth College, mentoring several all-conference honorees in addition to the top pick of the Major League Soccer draft.
Jordan originally got his collegiate coaching career start as a graduate assistant at Springfield College from 2007-2009, where he assisted in all facets of the program en route to earning his masters in sports management and coaching.
"I'm extremely honored to become the new head men's soccer coach for Stevens," Jordan said. "I would like to thank
Russell Rogers and the rest of the search committee for this incredible opportunity. I'm excited to get to work with the team and continuing the legacy of excellence with the men's soccer program."
In addition to his experience in the college ranks, Jordan spent four years as the Director of Coaching/General Manager of the Rochester Futbol Club, a highly successful club for boys and girls. Jordan oversaw the soccer curriculum as well as directed the operations of the program such as scheduling, budget oversight and equipment.
Jordan also worked as the team operations and sponsorship manager for the Rochester Rhinos, and a physical education teacher and coach for St. Mac Daras High School in Dublin, Ireland.
Jordan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology and coaching from Dublin City University in 2005 after a two-year playing career at Penn State.
A native of Ireland, Jordan inherits a Stevens program coming off its ninth-straight E8 title, and a 13th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
