16 Athletes and Seven Teams Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Sixteen Empire 8 Athletic Conference (E8) student athletes, four women's teams and three men's teams earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors.

A total of 423 women from 129 institutions and 293 men from 106 institutions earned the individual all-acdemic honor.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards:

  • Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
  • Finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org

The Empire 8 had four of the 175 women's teams awarded academic accolades, while three of the 112 men's teams honored were from the E8. In order to be in the running for Scholar Team of the Year, a team must finish highly at the respective national championship and have at least a 3.10 cumulative team GPA.
