Ithaca and Stevens Women’s Cross Country Ranked in USTFCCCA Poll

The Ithaca College and Stevens Institute of Technology women's cross country teams are ranked in the  USTFCCCA week one poll at No. 29 and No. 33, respectively. 

The Bombers were fell one spot to No. 29 after being No. 28 in the preseason poll. Ithaca won their first meet of the 2016 season at the Hamilton College Short Course Invitational last Saturday at Hamilton's golf course in Clinton, N.Y. Ithaca totaled 30 points as four of its five runners placed within the top nine finishers.

Junior Taryn Cordani led the way on the 4K course with a time of 14:11.2, while classmate Denise Ibarra was the runner-up in 14:53.4.

Ithaca is back on action on Sept. 17 at the University of Rochester Yellow Jacket Invitational.

The Ducks enter the rankings for the first time in program history, and were one of three new additions the top-35 that didn't receive any votes in the preseason poll. The team, led by senior Amy Regan and sophomore Mary Visca, finished second at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational last Saturday.

Stevens returns to action this Saturday, competing in the Oneonta Airfield Invitational at Fortin Park beginning at 10 a.m.
