Stevens Opens Season At Vassar

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (September 1, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's cross country team ran at the Vassar College Season Opener Thursday.

The team placed third in the event, tallying 57 points, two behind SUNY-New Paltz for second place. Vassar won the meet with 20 points.

Sophomore Ryan Little was the Ducks highest placer, finishing sixth in 13:30.1. Freshman Jeremy Savlov notched a top-10 time of 13:33.7 in his collegiate debut. Savlov missed eighth place by a mere .6 seconds. 

Two spots behind the freshman was senior Michael John, who ran the 3K in 13:36.8. Sophomore Michael Gormley placed 13th, four seconds behind John. Sophomore Greyson Strouse made his return to the Ducks after missing last season, and rounded out the scoring for the team.

The squad will be back in action on Saturday September 10, running in the Vassar Ron Stonitsch Invitational.
